REAL TIME OPTIMIZATION (RTO) APPLICATIONS
For larger, more complex plants, RTO takes optimization of the operation to a higher level. Reactions with complex yield patterns, multiple interacting units or other opportunities, repay the investment in RTO with even further profit improvement.
Based on detailed chemical engineering models, RTO examines all possibilities and trade-offs in a plant to develop the overall optimum solution. Non-linear effects are explicitly accounted for in calculating targets to pass on to the APC for implementation.
